This session will explore what’s new in Java 27 and beyond, emerging trends in AI and developer education, and how the Java community is preparing the next generation of developers. Attendees will also learn how to get involved in community initiatives and working groups focused on education, ecosystem development, AI, and the future of Java.
Heather VanCura is Vice President at Oracle and Director & Chairperson of the Java Community Process (JCP) Program, where she leads global strategy, standards, and community engagement across the Java ecosystem. With more than 20 years at Oracle and Sun Microsystems, she is a recognized leader in building global developer communities, advancing open standards, and fostering industry collaboration. She also supports Oracle’s MySQL community initiatives and is an international speaker and author of Developer Career Masterplan.
