Give the Gift of Reading: CHARITY BOOK DRIVE!

You may have met me at one of my Colouring Jams. With the current health situation, and in keeping with social distancing I’m trying to support the next generation of potential colourists from home (:

The Lisbon Project is starting a Library for children from vulnerable communities to help them build Portuguese language skills in a fun, relaxing way. I am ALL for this, reading was my happy place as a kid. I am collecting new/gently used Portuguese books for a reading age of 4-10 years, the more -sanitized- hands to help the better! Let’s do this safely, mostly separately, but together!!

Don’t stress if you don’t own Portuguese Language Children’s books, I understand this is pretty niche. You can still help by:

1. Shopping for a book online and have it delivered to the Lisbon Project**
2. Spreading the word to friends who might have these books lying around
3. Donating €10 (or more) towards the purchase of books**

In the month of August, 15 children from beneficiary families are going to enjoy a Summer Kids Camp organised by volunteers, sponsored by the Lisbon Project. Let’s give these kids (and more) the gift of reading! I will be standing outside the Lisbon Project (with personal protection to safeguard our health) to receive your book donations. You may drive up and pass me books from your vehicle or reach me on foot.

If you, or someone you know would like to donate books but are not available during this time slot, please send me a message and I can arrange to receive the books on another day/time.
