What we’re about
Carlos Loff has been teaching practical Photography for 16 years - Here
>>> Efficient Teaching: Practical - Methodical - Personalized
-------
Group goal - Bringing together foreigner Photographers in Lisbon, in an inclusive atmosphere. We embrace beginner or experienced practitioners, who want to learn new techniques, share experiences and make new friends. I aim to empower all participants with a wide range of new skills in: Camera handling, Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Wildlife, Street, Nocturnal and Studio
-------
For Whom - This is an International Meetup, English speaking, open to everyone, expats and nomads, who want to develop their skills through practical workshops and courses or perform creative works through themed events.
-------
How it works - There will be two type of events
- Workshops with formal teaching, outdoor or indoor, preforming practical exercises and discussing results
- Themed Events, outdoor or indoor, where we share expenses to hire Models or Performers, enabling us to achieve a fine Portfolio
-------
Disclaimer - This not a company or profit driven, the events fees are destined only to cover for Meetup 55€ monthly fee, my time preparing and running classes plus transport/food expenses - Thank you
Up to 20 Models and 40 Photographers

------- //
Where Talent Speaks Louder Than Experience
- A non-commercial event designed to promote new talents, both behind and in front of the camera, with low-cost values
------- //
Location - Lisbon Garden = Jardim Linha D´Água
- The event takes place from 10 AM to 5 PM with short breaks. See videos and photos of a smaller previous event at the bottom of the page.
- Apart from the 6 Professional Models (from this list), the remaining 14 Models are "new faces," recruited by Carlos Loff and announced up to 2 weeks before the event.
- The participant ratio is 2 Photographers per each Model, ensuring good logistics for shootings with time and personalization.
- Styling - Spring-Summer Short Dresses and Heels
------- //
How Do We Know Who and When to Photograph?
- A brief initial briefing will confirm the presence of all participants, explaining the general operation, locations, and some breaks for the Models.
- Models and Photographers will always be clearly identified, ensuring clarity on who can be photographed and who can photograph.
- A cheat sheet with key camera settings, lenses, approaches, and variables will be provided to support the technical aspects of the shootings.
Rules and Conditions
- Outside of the 6 Pro Models, the other 14 Beginner Models are not required to have professional experience but must be pre-approved by Carlos Loff to ensure a minimum physical profile and posing ability.
- Photographers have the unique opportunity to photograph 20 Models in one day, with time and personalization, paying only a symbolic fee to cover the Models' and organization/logistics costs by Carlos Loff.
- Beginner Models will receive €20 on the day to cover costs. If they show special talent, they may be invited to future professional workshops with proper remuneration (professionals receive full payment).
- The number of Models adjusts to registrations, maintaining a ratio of 2 Photographers per Model: 10 Models for 20 Photographers, 15 for 30, and up to 20 for 40.
------- //
After the Event - What Happens to the Photos?
- Sharing: Photographers commit to sending Carlos Loff at least 2 photos of each Model within 30 days, allowing free use by the Models, Carlos Loff, and sponsors across any medium, provided they are not commercialized and may include watermarks.
- Rights: All participants (Models and Photographers) authorize the non-commercial publication of the event's results on any medium or platform.
- Exhibition: On a date to be announced, a major Exhibition will be held at LX Factory (New IRIS Space), inviting everyone to showcase their talents to numerous visitors.
- Sponsor: This event does not depend on sponsorships but may include one exclusive sponsor (to be defined). The sponsor may publicize the resulting images, crediting the authors and avoiding commercialization.
