Details
The 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, 11 October 2026
Key Storylines
- Verstappen's Opportunity: Max Verstappen enters the weekend with momentum after clinching his first victory of the year at the chaotic relocated Bahrain GP in Sepang. He has notoriously never won the Singapore Grand Prix, but this weekend presents his absolute best chance yet.
- Russell's Grid Penalty: Mercedes' George Russell (who won the race last year) will start Sunday's main Grand Prix from the very back of the grid. Mercedes was forced to fit a completely new power unit into his car following a late engine failure during the previous round.
- Championship Lead: Andrea Kimi Antonelli currently commands an 84-point lead in the Drivers' Championship over his Mercedes teammate George Russell.
- Weather Alert: Local forecasts indicate a high probability of heavy storms and rain over the weekend, which could trigger a chaotic night race on the narrow, unforgiving street circuit.
