Beyond Words: IFS and Intuitive Drawing
Details
In this workshop, we will be exploring the therapeutic model of Internal Family Systems (IFS) alongside the Drawing Into Self method pioneered by Ruth Culver. IFS is a very gentle way of connecting with the different parts of ourselves, reducing inner conflict and finding deeper harmony and peace. Drawing Into Self is a way of externalizing your parts through simple, intuitive mark-making or 'scribbling' with pastels. You don't need any artistic ability to participate—just bring a willingness to explore!
Giving the different parts of ourselves a chance to express themselves through drawing can help us explore feelings that may be difficult to put into words, ease feelings of overwhelm, and develop a greater sense of connection and understanding within ourselves.
The workshop will include a brief introduction to IFS, time for intuitive drawing and exploration, and an opportunity to reflect and share with others—as much or as little as feels comfortable.
This is a workshop for anyone curious about their inner world, or for therapists who are interested in the intersection of IFS with art therapy.
Come with curiosity and leave with new connections and a better understanding of your inner world!
