(Em português abaixo)
Please note - this event begins at Santa Apolonia Railway Station (Main entrance) at 12:15 (for the 12:45 regional train [€6.75 in advance).
Always read All the event information below!
Santarem (1 hour by train up the Tejo valley) is having its third 'LGBTQIAP+ Pride' March (which we also attended in 2021 and 2022). Santarem is also the famously charming city of Portuguese gothic, with steep hills, amazing views, pretty squares and was voted one of Portugal's most popular cities to live.
So let's rainbow-it-up and get the train to Santarem for a bit of culture and counter-culture all in one day! :-)
(Last year train disruption gave us trouble on the way home. At the moment no train engineering works or strikes are scheduled. If disruption is expected this year the event will be cancelled, but for now all seems to be OK. I will check updates and contact everyone if train disruption is expected).
(The following websites may not yet be updated, but Santarem Pride on Saturday 16/9/23 is confirmed and announced)

For those wanting a hike, you'll find the steep hills and winding streets of the city will test your legs, the expansive views across the Tagus and surrounding countryside will rest your eyes. The Pride March is scheduled to start at 17:00, and lasts an hour or two.
The Pride march starts at 5pm, so we will meet at Santa Apolonia at 12:15 for the 12:45 train (€6.75 - book tickets in advance) (or join at Oriente 12:53), have a stroll/late lunch in the city, do the march, and we can take any of the frequent trains back to Lisbon (€6.75/€13,65/€12,15 depending on the train) (3 trains an hour until last trains at 22:19 and 23:07).

Santarem is a hot city in September - please be sure to bring a hat and carry plenty of water!
Please note - as stated in the group description, these events are Not led events. All necessary information is provided on event pages for you to act independently and be responsible for yourself at all times.
This is a joint day out with 'International LGBTQ and Friends' and 'Queer Lisbon' Meetup groups.
(Normally, an event with 'LGBTQ Hiking Portugal' is limited to 30 people to keep it social and manage our crowd on buses - but we hope for a large crowd supporting Santarem Pride so there is no limit on numbers for this event. And we look forward to mingling with 'International LGBTQ and Friends' and 'Queer Lisbon' Meetups. Please feel free to also bring along friends who may not be members of these groups).
(To stay informed about 'LGBTQ Hiking Portugal' events please consider downloading the Meetup App from Apple or the Google Play Store)
(In Portuguese)
Leia sempre todas as informações do evento abaixo!
