What we’re about
- We do half day Lisbon walks in different city spots to discover how diverse are the streets, monuments, gardens and local people
What you'll do at our events
- Walks range from 3 to 5 Km, across less mainstream city areas, in relaxed pace, so we have time to share our thoughts and experiences, making new friendships
Who should join our group
- These events are 100% International and run in English, so everyone is welcomed: locals, foreign visitors and expats.
- You should join if you like walks that offer more detailed exploration, away from the beaten path, into Lisbon´s deeper dimensions and secondary areas, some more urban and some more natural.
Small fees are charged to RSVP
- This group has no affiliation and it's not associated with a business or organization
- Small fees help compensate for my Meetup monthly subscription, many hours of research, first, path recons and all event´s logistics
- Also help filtering people who eventually RSVP lightly, fill the limited spots and than don´t show

Yes, Alfama is mainstream, but we are diving into a whole other realm when we visit at night, getting lost in it´s urban labyrinth of Lights and Shadows
The sights, the sounds and activities that go on in Alfama at night will offer a complete different experience, even for anyone who visited during daytime

- We Meet the stairs, outside Sé´s Cathedral/Church (Igreja/Catedral da Sé), mid way between downtown Rossio and Lisbon Castle - Check the Map pin and don´t be late --- We finish at this same spot, but won´t repeat same paths
-------Terrain & Difficulty
- The walk has around 4 Km and despite being mainly descendent, there are a few stairs to climb, but not many

Water shows in Lisbon in many forms and functions, from the past to the present, so instead of focusing in a given Barrio, we will traverse many city different áreas, some central and some hidden
From lakes, to fountains, passing by the aqueduct and even a Summer urban pool, we will uncover how Water makes up for a surprising and dynamic part of Lisbon

Benfica quarter is clearly urban but it borders many city outskirts and big parks, showing several remanences of was still the countryside, when Lisbon was smaller
A surprising mix of urban and park birds can be seen, from the smallest Wrens, to bigger Herons, including (believe it or not) Peregrine Falcon, if we get lucky
I worked 21 years in Nature Conservation in Lisbon, so count on some knowledgeable guidance

The riverside in the North of Parque das Nações is not far from Tejo Nature Reserve in a straight path and offers good samples of wetlands vegetation, attracting many surprising species, sometimes even Flamingos
The walk will offer a transition from a carefully planed Mediterranean riverside park, into a proper wetland habitat, so expect anything from Goldfinches and Great Tits, to Cormorants and Herons, also (believe it or not) Peregrine Falcon, if we get lucky
