Hiking through Cascata do Mourão - Penedo de Lexim - Aldeia Mata Pequena

Hello Everyone!

We will hike through the former volcanic chimney Penedo de Lexim and Picturesque renovated village of Mata Pequena and Cascata do Mourão. It is an around 12km long circular hike with 300m total elevation gain.
We will need to cross a small creek. Usually, it is possible to cross it stepping on the stones. However, we may need to take our shoes off depending on the level of the water.

We will meet in Portela da Sintra ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ue84fFFE1oCQV6ra6 ) and share Uber/Bolt towards the starting point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8khP9rdVL7gWMXGs5
On the way back we will use Uber/Bolt as well but waiting time may be longer because there are not many Uber/Bolt cars around Anços. If you will go to the starting point directly, please be there at 10:20 and let me know in advance.

Pack a picnic lunch and at least one and a half litre of water. Hiking shoes/hiking boots, a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended for a comfortable hike. You can bring a raincoat just in case!

This event may be postponed or cancelled depending on the weather conditions.

If you would like to contribute towards the Lisbon Hiking Meetup costs, please prepare a contribution of 2 euros per person for the hike.

Whether you already have a place or are still in the waiting list, if you later change your mind about coming, then it is very important that you change your RSVP, so another member can participate instead.

It is not allowed to smoke and to leave any trash during the hike!
