Whatcha doing this summer?

Details
Hi friends!
How's everyone doing?
Hopefully everybody is okay.
Today I learned Bruce Lee had a vegan brother.
Broco Lee.
Okay...on a serious note...
Things are challenging for some (rising cost of gas, food, goods & services, housing, etc.), and totally understandable some things (e.g. entertainment, recreation, hobbies, etc.) might become expensive.
However, as everyone knows, mental health and self-care are important.
Although some people might be stressed and/or limited in what they do with their free time or where they travel/drive to, hopefully some can still maintain their sanity, do fun things, meet new people, and make new friends this summer.
I anticipate being busy and unavailable in July and August, but want to post this so other group members can talk & discuss among themselves about possibly planning their own group activities and events (without me).
Especially with inflation worsening, some people might be struggling and stressed, so fortunately some free and low-cost activities are available.
If anyone is having a hard time during this pandemic and economic hardship, hopefully nobody feels alone, and can find others to talk with and persevere & overcome.
Meeting new people can be scary, intimidating, and hard for some.
If anyone feels comfortable to take an initiative in organizing / hosting a get-together...
Feel free to plan a fun activity like
a hike or run
a walk at a park or beach
day trip to a nearby city/area
working out at a gym or park
backpacking or camping trip
play date for your dog(s) or child(ren)
throwing a football, frisbee, baseball, etc.
activities like yoga, stretching, or meditation.
arboretum, botanical garden, museum, zoo, etc.
a casual game of tennis, basketball, or other sport
bike riding, roller-blading, kayaking, whale-watching tour, etc
free dances, outdoor movies, or outdoor concerts during the summer
For any who live in/near Orange County, someone on a Reddit forum posted this list of free events:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_PwMZOMvZAIhtBT7MFhsD5HPXKY_1FYhj70jdSF28zw
Los Angeles usually has similar events too. Plenty of resources are online that should reveal scheduled events in various cities.
Those are just a few ideas...but feel free to share your own thoughts via the comments section...or message me directly if you want to add an event to our group calendar so others can possibly join you.
The upcoming months might be hard for some due to inflation, so for any who might be struggling & suffering, please hang in there, and don't give up.
Oh, and if anyone wants to find others for going together to a peaceful protest, that's fine with me.
Our group is intended to be inclusive and diverse...so if anyone wants to plan an event that is open to anyone & everyone...that's fine with me.
But if anyone wants to meet others who are similar to themselves (e.g. demographics) and narrow down their preference, that's also fine.
For example...
Anyone in the LGBTQ community and/or allies wanting to meet others
Couples wanting to meet other couples
Parents wanting to meet other parents with kids (e.g. playdate)

Two of my favorite activities that help me relieve stress are camping & hiking and volunteering.
Numerous people have said they dislike(d) other camping trips planned by others, which can be ridiculously expensive (e.g. $80 - $120 or more).
For any who are interested in camping, but don't want to be ripped off by others, feel free to lmk if you ever want some general tips / advice.
If anyone wants to look for a campsite at a national park or national forest, try
If anyone wants to look for a campsite at a California state park or state beach, try
Here's a useful resource for learning about some campgrounds...in different regions / areas:

If anyone is interested in volunteering, feel free to lmk what city/area you want to help in, and I can try to recommend anything I know that might fit your geographic preference.
Volunteering is an excellent way to meet kind, nice, caring, happy, positive, and friendly people. :)

Okay...I anticipate being MIA for the next two months...but this group is available for you and others to meet one another.
Have a great summer, everyone.
Cheers!
