Fantasy & Speculative Fiction Book Club - "Katabasis" Discussion in Folsom

In May, we venture into speculative terrain with Katabasis, a novel that explores descent — literal, metaphorical, psychological. Known for layered worldbuilding and intellectual depth, R. F. Kuang crafts stories that interrogate power, ambition, myth, and consequence.

Our discussion will examine structure, symbolism, genre blending, and the thematic weight of “descent” in its many forms. As always, first-time attendees, casual readers, and returning book lovers are all welcome.
