Lit of the Century is a book club dedicated to exploring the top 100 books of the 21st century, as chosen by New York Times readers. Vox Populi baby!

So let's skim off some of the very best of contemporary literature and dive into diverse genres, perspectives, and stories that define the new millennium.

Open to all the kind, respectful, and literature loving people of DFW (though we will meet on the north side of Dallas).

About the book:
Never Let Me Go follows Kathy H., who reflects on her childhood at the idyllic English boarding school Hailsham and her lifelong bonds with friends Tommy and Ruth. As they grow older, they gradually understand the dark purpose for which they were raised in a quietly altered version of England. The novel explores how love, memory, and dignity persist even when fate seems inescapable.

Critics Say:
A novel that is both a page-turner and a profoundly unsettling meditation on what it means to be human.(NYT)

Length and Style:
288 pages. Retrospective, nonlinear memoir structure.

Trigger Warnings:
Never Let Me Go explores themes of mortality and emotional neglect. While not graphic, it may feel heavy for some readers.
