In every home, there are ordinary objects that hold extraordinary meaning. What might seem like just a teapot, a worn t-shirt, or a simple handkerchief can hold a deep meaning and spark memories. At Aurora Hills Library, volunteer Samantha Barnett invites the community to explore these powerful connections through a unique exhibit of everyday treasures. Each item tells a story—of where we come from, of moments that shaped us, or of the people we hold dear. These objects can help spark that connection with a community member over a similar memory, experience, or the object itself. By sharing these personal artifacts, we open the door to connection, finding common ground through shared experiences and memories. Join us in celebrating the objects that bind us and the stories that bring us together.
The exhibit will be on display from June 21 - August 16, 2025, in the glass display cases in the Aurora Hills Library lobby.

This is a volunteer-led book club. We meet the third Wednesday evening of the month online via Zoom. New members are always welcome!
This month's selection is "The Saint of Bright Doors" by Vajra Chandrasekera:
Fetter was raised to kill, honed as a knife to cut down his sainted father. This gave him plenty to talk about in therapy. He walked among invisible powers: devils and anti-gods that mock the mortal form. He learned a lethal catechism, lost his shadow, and gained a habit for secrecy. After a blood-soaked childhood, Fetter escaped his rural hometown for the big city, and fell into a broader world where divine destinies are a dime a dozen.Everything in Luriat is more than it seems. Group therapy is recruitment for a revolutionary cadre. Junk email hints at the arrival of a god. Every door is laden with potential, and once closed may never open again. The city is scattered with Bright Doors, looming portals through which a cold wind blows. In this unknowable metropolis, Fetter will discover what kind of man he is, and his discovery will rewrite the world.
A limited number of print copies of the selected book will be available at Central Library's 2nd floor Info Desk on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons are also encouraged to place holds on available print or digital copies.
