Project Hail Mary (2026) book discussion + movie screening

Let's read Andy Weir’s hit sci‑fi novel, Project Hail Mary, and its brand-new screen adaptation together. We’ll talk about how the adaptation handles the science, the pacing, and the emotional core of the story, what had to change for the screen, and which version landed better for you. You do not need to have read the book to attend—curious movie‑goers are absolutely welcome.

This will be at the host’s home in Midtown on a brand new 75” U8 high-def TV.
I’ll provide some light snacks and drinks, and you’re encouraged to bring food or beverages to share. If enough folks are interested we can put in an order of pizza (please comment if you want this)
Agenda:

• 5:00 pm: trickle in, start to discuss the book only.
• 6:00: Movie screening, 1st half (~1hr20min)
• ~7:30: INTERMISSION + "thoughts so far" discussion comparing book up to this point in the movie/snack and bathroom break
• 8:00: Movie screening, 2nd half (~1rh15min)
• ~9:15: Final discussion of overall thoughts comparing book to movie
