Appalachian Trail - Great Falls and Rand's View
Details
This 10-mile fast-paced hike will start at the AT parking lot on RT 41 in Salisbury and end at the Route 7/112 Junction in Falls Village.
We'll travel along some flat roads and east of the Housatonic River for a bit (the only part of the Connecticut AT east of the river), see the raging falls of that river near the Iron Bridge, cross over Prospect Mountain and witness Rand's View-one of the best in CT. Other highlights will be Billy's View and the strange monolith known as Giant's Thumb. Seriously, if you've never stood next to the Great Falls of the Housatonic, you should come!
This is a shuttle hike. Meet at the pin on the map on Route 7 in Falls Village. Then we shuttle to the AT lot of route 41 in Salisbury to begin the hike. Bring plenty of water and food.
