Mt. Wilson is Jeff’s Finale. After many years of peak bagging, Jeff is nearing the finish line of all 58 14ers.
Come join him.
Jeff will be car camping at Kilpacker the night before and might stay one more night depending on the weather.
Rain date will be Friday, August 7th.

Kilpacker Approach
From Telluride, drive south on Colorado 145 to Lizard Head Pass. Continue south for 5.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Road (FR) 535. Drive over 5 miles on the 2WD dirt road to reach the signed, Kilpacker trailhead on the right.
Details: This hike will have two options:
#1 For those just wanting to get EL Diente or Wilson, you can do so without attempting the Traverse;
#2 For those looking for both and the exciting traverse (just one small section is Class 4)
