Please meet directly behind the Bear Mountain Bridge on 9W
We start hiking at 8:45 by ascending the blue trail directly behind the Bear Mtn Bridge. This section is steep & rocky & we will gain elevation quickly as we reach the rock ledges where the flag pole used to be for nice views of the Bear Mnt Bridge & the Hudson River. Please be comfortable with scrambling.
From there, we head south on Blue via Camp Smith Trail to the Toll House Visitor Center, retrace our steps back towards the Bridge & descend via the AT to 9W~ we will not descend via the scramble.
There is a small amount of road walk back to our cars.

This hike has beautiful views of the Hudson

We will hike at a moderate pace~ approx.. 2 mph

Approx. 7.7 miles

2500 ft. elevation gain

IMPORTANT ***Park on 9W as close to the Bridge as you can along the east side of 9W
