1. Welcome & Introductions (10–15 min)

Warm welcome from the host

Quick round of introductions (name, pronouns if desired, and a favorite book or author from a diverse background)

2. About the Book Club (10 min)

Purpose and theme of the club: celebrating diverse voices and stories

How meetings will work (frequency, format, discussion guidelines, etc.)

Creating a respectful, inclusive space

3. Choosing Our First Book (20–25 min)

Review top book suggestions from the group

Open discussion of interests, themes, and preferences

Vote on the first book (via poll or consensus)

4. Reading Schedule & Next Steps (10 min)

Decide on a realistic reading timeline

Set the date for the next meeting

Assign any discussion leads (optional)

5. Q&A / Open Discussion (5–10 min)

Open floor for questions, ideas, or general feedback

Optional: share other book recs or events related to diverse literature
