Stranger than Fiction + Notes from Underground

"It is the beginning of 1864. Fyodor Dostoevsky is in Moscow writing the first twentieth century novel."

So Edwin Frank begins his book "Stranger than Fiction", a survey of twentieth century literature seen through thirty selected works. Having just finished our own survey of Dostoevsky, returning to Notes from Underground seems the perfect springboard into the twentieth century.
Our reading will consist of the prologue from Edwin Frank's Stranger than Fiction, and Notes from Underground. Obviously, we have changed the entire format of the Deep Dive series, which is discussed in the meetup page.
