Great Reads Book Group: Ancient Epics

This weekly book group is going to run through major literary works, starting with The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid.

The Iliad:

• Books 1 & 2 - March 27th
• Books 3 & 4 - April 10th
• Books 5 & 6 - April 24th
• Books 7 & 8 - May 1st
• Books 9 & 10 - May 8th
• Books 11 & 12 - May 15th
• Books 13 & 14 - May 22nd
• Books 15 & 16 - May 29th
• Books 17 & 18 - June 5th
• Books 19 & 20 - June 12th
• Books 21 – 22 - June 19th
• Books 23 – 24 - June 26th

The Odyssey:

• Books 1 – 3 - July 10th
• Books 4 – 6 - July 17th
• Books 7 – 9 - July 24th
• Books 10 – 12 - July 31st
• Books 13- 15 - August 7th
• Books 16 – 18 - August 14th
• Books 19 – 21 - August 21st
• Books 22 – 24 - August 28th

The Aeneid:

• Books 1 & 2 - September 18th
• Books 3 & 4 - September 25th
• Books 5 & 6 - October 2nd
• Books 7 & 8 - October 9th
• Books 9 & 10 - October 16th
• Books 11 & 12 - October 23rd

Once we have completed The Aeneid, we will move on to read Athenian tragedies, including The Orestia, Oedipus Tyrannus, and Medea.
