The Books of Jacob (Slow Read)

This slow-read group will explore The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk.

The book tells the story of a Polish Jew named Jacob Frank, who claims to be the messiah.

For this work, Tokarczuk one a number of prestigious literary prizes, and it was influential in securing the Nobel Prize for Literature as well.

A breakdown of the reading assignments is forthcoming. As with other slow-read groups, we will have assigned readings each week and we will discuss those readings specifically in our meeting. You are of course welcome to read ahead if you want to but we try to keep spoilers to a minimum.
