orn in Melbourne in 1939, Gerard Murnane has - in the past two decades - come to be recognised as one of the most innovative novelists working in the English language. His debut novel is a semi-autobiographical account of his coming of age in a Catholic family in rural Australia.

Each session is accompanied by a lecture from Dr Aidan Cottrell-Boyce, exploring its spiritual and theological significance.
