Boulder Loop Hike from Chapman Drive Trailhead
Details
I’m starting this hike at 7am sharp…as I’ve got an afternoon appointment and need to get home & showered before. Not certain, but it could be a little dark still at 7am, so you might want to bring a flashlight/headlamp in case you need it.
We hike as a group and hike at an average moving pace of about 2.5mph to 3mph. Although the group may split up due to different hiking paces, everyone is expected to wait at all intersections & periodically otherwise so that we can regroup and so no one is left behind or hiking on their own for safety purposes. We will plan to take a break at May’s Point & we will stop as needed along the way for water, snacks, pictures, etc.
DIFFICULTY: Moderate: about 10 miles with about 1,800 to 1,900 feet elevation gain. This is a self-made trail and I’ve never done this exact route, so distance and elevation gain are estimated.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: From Chapman Drive TH, we will start off on the Boulder Canyon Trail and take it to Eben G Fine Park…where we will pick up the Viewpoint Trail which takes us to Panorama Point. Next we’ll hike up to Crown Rock and up toward Flagstaff Mountain where will will go to Mays Point for a fantastic view and a short break. May’s Point requires a bit of a rock scramble, but you are rewarded with awesome views! Then we will hike back along the Range View and Tenderfoot Trails with views of the Indian Peaks, then back to the Chapman Drive TH. This exact trail is not in alltrails. Here is a link to the map I created in alltrails, which you can download: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/map-october-25-2025-fc56e4c?u=i&sh=ittjkn
I will also post a photo of the route.
