Eagle’s 🦅 View & North Fork Trails Hike at Reynolds Park
Details
Let’s do the Eagles View Trail which has one of my favorite panoramic views close to home. Thereafter, those interested can join me and extend the hike on the other side of the road for extra mileage and more nice views.
We hike as a group and hike at an average moving pace of about 2.5 to 3mph. Although the group may split up due to different hiking paces, everyone is expected to wait at all intersections & periodically otherwise so that we can regroup and so no one is left behind for safety purposes.
Difficulty: If you do just the Eagles View Loop, it is about 4 to 4.5 miles and 1,000 feet elevation gain. If you continue with me on the Songbird, Chickadee Loop that crosses the road, the total hike is about 7.5 miles with about 1,600 feet elevation gain.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: We will start with the hike up to Eagle's View which is a steep trail with a big time payoff. The views from the top of the ridge and the Eagle's View Overlook are expansive and utterly fantastic. You'll be treated to views of many of the area's iconic rock formations and mountains, such as Cathedral Spires, Chair Rocks, Thunder Butte, and Pike's Peak out in the distance. At the end of the loop, you can end the hike or join me and take the Songbird Trail across the road to Chickadee and the North Fork Trail which also has wonderful views. DOGS: Allowed on a leash. Please be sure your dog is well behaved and can handle the length of the walk. Dog owners must clean up pet excrement, per Jefferson County Open Space Regulations (https://www.jeffco.us/DocumentCenter/View/8982).
