Difficulty: about 8 miles with about 1,300 to 1,400 feet elevation gain.

DOGS NOT ALLOWED: No dogs are allowed on the Lions Lair Trail.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: This is an out and back trail where we will take the Sunshine Canyon Trail to the Lions Lair Trail to Mount Sanitas Peak…then back. If there are any of you who prefer to make this a loop and take the steeper rockier Mount Sanitas Trail up or down, we can split into 2 groups. I will be doing the following hike in Alltrails: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mount-sanitas-via-sunshine-canyon

If you want to turn this into a loop as mentioned above, here is a link to the alltrails route: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mount-sanitas-via-lions-lair-and-mount-sanitas-trail-loop

ADDRESS/DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the Centennial Trailhead parking lot. To get there, you can click on either of the alltrails links above and click directions. If you use google maps or Apple maps, you can type in “Centennial Trailhead” for directions. Or here is the address for the Centennial Trailhead: 501 Sunshine Canyon Dr., Boulder, CO 80302

We wait 5 minutes for late arrivals…but no longer as that is inconsiderate to those arriving timely. So please allow extra time to get to the trailhead.
