Let’s have a rockin’ good time and hike up to Stone Mountain.

We hike as a group and hike at an average moving pace of about 2.5 mph. Although the group may split up due to different hiking paces, everyone is expected to wait at all intersections & periodically otherwise so that we can regroup and so no one is left behind for safety purposes. We will plan to take a break at the summit & we will stop as needed along the way for water, snacks, pictures, etc.

Difficulty: about 8.5 to 9 miles with about 2,300 feet elevation gain.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: The trail goes through a scenic forested area, along large boulders and through a small granite canyon before summiting the stone peak. The trail is said to be wonderfully scenic, but not without its challenges. The first few miles of the trek are the toughest, climbing steep grades and rocky terrain, but the trail's incline will become increasingly gradual as we near the summit where the views will make you forget all about your tired feet. We will do the following hike in alltrails: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/stone-mountain

DOGS ALLOWED IF FOLLOW RULES: Allowed on a leash. Please be sure your dog is well behaved and can handle length of the walk. Dog owners must clean up pet excrement.
