Free Workshop in NYC on Intro to using Crypto and Defi Protocols on chain

This is a live, in person workshop in Brooklyn, NY where you'll learn how to create transactions on a cryptocurrency smart contract platform.

Strongly recommend actively participating and doing the same transactions we do in the Workshop. That's the best way to learn.

In order to participate, You'll need:
1. $100 in Eth on Coinbase account or Metamask wallet

2. Laptop

Buti f you want to just come and watch to learn, you are welcome to! Everyone is welcome no matter the experience level, even if you've never bought any crypto.

Learning about how to use this new tech will give you the tools to increase your wealth and take total control of your assets.

This workshop is NOT about how to buy or invest in different coins or what the best trade is. It's about how to use the new financial rails on the blockchain networks and smart contract platforms available.

You'll learn how to trade, lend, borrow and save using your digital assets, like Ethereum, with very cheap transaction fees, outside of the traditional finance system you're used to.

You'll learn how you could be eligible for 10's of thousands of dollars just for being an early adopter since so many protocols air drop their tokens to early users. (Not an exaggeration or misprint, 10's of thousands!).

We'll be using the Arbitrum Network in order to demonstrate the power of decentralized finance
You'll learn which protocols and decentralized applications are safe to use in order to trade, borrow or lend assets, and save.

In this workshop:
4-415- Set up and mingle

415pm-515 Intro where we dive right into you creating transactions on the blockchain with real digital assets with value. You'll learn how to do simple DeFi transactions, like trade, borrow, lend and save. We will also go over security basics so you can be comfortable holding funds on chain. (Please try to be on time so you wont be lost)

-515pm-6pm The next part of the session will focus more on the security aspect of keeping your funds safe in order to protect yourself from bad actors in the space. The long term goal of this group is for everyone to be comfortable and secure holding their funds on chain. If there's time left (unlikely), we can take a tour of more complicated protocols and tools available to use to build your wealth.

6pm-630 Chat a bit and answer some questions

It is STRONGLY recommended that you already have at least $50-$100 in Ethereum coins in your Coinbase account in order to be able to transfer them to your self custodied wallet. If you already self custody your own funds in a metamask wallet (or any wallet) even better and you're ahead of the class. You will get the most out of this workshop if you directly participate and transact yourself.

***You will have to pay transaction fees on the order of 30-40ish dollars in Ethereum in order to bridge to the Arbitrum network along with some other fees here and there. NONE OF THESE FEES GO TO THE HOST.

We will be using the Metamask Browser Wallet on your laptop (you can download this before coming) in order to make transaction.

If you can't bring a laptop, you are welcome to just come and watch, learn and ask questions.

As mentioned, this technology is brand new, glitchy and risky. It is very possible you can make a mistake and LOSE 100% OF YOUR FUNDS. That is why we will recommend starting with small amounts first. The host is not responsible for any lost funds at all. Be ok with this possibility and think of it as tuition paid. It will be the best money you've ever spent if it helps you understand this new tech better. If you are not ok with this risk, it is best to just come and watch.
