About us
We are Generation X! We are the group that falls in between the Baby Boomers and the Millennials. We were born roughly between 1965 and 1980 and we became of age during the golden 80s and 90s. We remember “antiquities” such as the VCR (remember “be kind, rewind”?), rotary dial telephone, the cassette tape, answering machine and … floppy disks?… what’s that?
In the news we witnessed a former actor elected POTUS, the AIDS epidemic, the tragic explosion of the space shuttle Challenger, Freddy Mercury, Live Aid, USA for Africa, “just say no” to drugs. On TV, we were glued to the sets for MTV, the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, the Cosby Show, Cheers, The Golden Girls and “who shot J.R.?”. At the cinemas “Luke I Am Your Father”, a homesick extraterrestrial, a time-traveling DeLorean ruled the box office… so many wonderful memories having lived through those golden years of the '80's and 90's.
Now in 2026, we are now in our “golden years”. We’re established in our careers, the children have grown and left the nest, relationships may have fallen apart, yet we're still standing (yeah, yeah, yeah). Many of us are still working and not yet retired like the Baby Boomers. We’re fiercely independent, there's still life in us, and we actually have disposable income for some fun, or lotsa fun
This group aims to build a social circle of lively and still active Gen X weekend warriors, adrenaline junkies, fun seekers with an insatiable yen for fun, friendship, and adventures and living a beautiful glow up life with sass, spice, and flare with new friends who share our vibrational frequency.
Our Fun Events and Adventures: Outdoors, indoors and everything in between. In this group, we aim to still accomplish great things. Climb that mountain! Book that ticket! Take that weekend trip out of town! Try that new cuisine! Learn a new skill! Volunteer for a worthy cause! From weekly hikes to exciting and engaging random activities, we plan fun events year-round—giving you the perfect opportunity to make new friends who share your vibrational frequency. Hiking, walks in park, day trips, weekend getaways, dining out, Broadway shows, museums, happy hours, movie nights, wine tasting, brewery tours and … for the adrenaline junkies... kayaking, rafting, biking, rock climbing, ice climbing, rappelling down a waterfall, and ... tell your fear to hold that beer cuz babe you’re about to jump off that airplane ... wheee.... We will do it all! NYC is capital of the world. We will never run out of meetup ideas that’s for sure
Our playgrounds will be throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City and beyond ... north to Hudson Valley, east to Long Island, over the river to New Jersey … south to Connecticut ... all reachable by public transportation. In due course, once we have formed a niche group of friends we will even go on international trips together.
Come join us! Let’s be pals and confidantes as we travel down the road and back again. Let’s stay golden AND BE A BADASS ... together
