JOIN US FOR THE CONTRA DANCE ON FRIDAY APRIL 25, 2025!!
Join us for the wonderful sounds of Hollertones (Paul Brown (banjo & mandolin), Linda Scutt -(fiddle), Jeanie Theiken Creamer (guitar), Nick Weiland (upright bass)) will bring their special dancing tunes to the BUMPER CAR PAVILION for the Friday Night Dance.

Our caller is Janine Smith. The Janine Smith experience is what you get when you cross a howdy-ma’am-BBQ-and-beans Honky Tonk with Zoom contra and sprinkle on some twinkly lights for sass. She’ll bring you a night of fun dances, from squares to contras, heck maybe a Singing Square, whether you’re sitting, standing, or somewhere in between. Her teaching is clear and to-the-point, though she has been known to goof around a bit. She’s one of the “Hot Square Babes,” a quintet of female callers who threw a monthly Square Dance Party in the DC area from 2004-2018, and a founding member of the DC Square Dance Collective.

Come on out and join us for an amazing evening at the Friday Night Dance!

All dances called gender-free.

Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Boulevard, Glen Echo, MD 20812.

Tickets are $15. Purchase tickets at here or pay at the door.

The admission price includes the lesson at 7:30 p.m.

Dance from 8 to 11 p.m.

The Friday Night Dancers are proud to be a diverse and inclusive organization, welcoming all of our neighbors to join us in this energetic and delightful evening of fun each week. Be sure to invite your friends, family and colleagues to join us each Friday evening at the Spanish Ballroom in Glen Echo Park!!

All Friday Night Dances are hosted in a mask-optional ballroom. While masks are not required, we continue to encourage them. We ask that you please be sensitive to those who have made the decision to continue to wear masks.

Though COVID-19 vaccinations are not required, we encourage individuals to obtain them.
