Mariza @ Llais Wales Milenium Centre

Word renown ambassador of Fado Mariza will be coming to the Llais festival at the Millenium Centre to share her Lisbon sounds along some ventures into new musical paths.

Fado is most widely known Portuguese musical tradition. Sung in hidden wine cellars and traditional tascas in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra it is known for its melancholic sounds on life's sorrows, bohemian life and the untranslatable concept of Saudade. Mariza has widely been acclaimed as the one of the all time best Fado singers following the tradition of Fado diva Amália Rodrigues and taking the art form to new heights.
