Record Listening Night: A Taste of Soul

Let's celebrate soul music! A little different from our usual meetups of live music and socializing before or after the music. This time we bring a vinyl 45 or 33 record (sorry, no CD or thumb drive) of a favorite soul song to play and discuss with others in the group. The host/DJ will have a collection of soul albums to choose from if you don't have one. There'll be a host, a DJ and promise of drinks, snacks and dancing. Okay to bring a bottle of wine/bev and snacks to share.

I haven't been to a formal Record Listening Night before but how many of us, back in the days, had a turntable and a vinyl album collection of favorite musicians, songs, concerts, etc. Remember rummaging through the used record stores though countless bins of record covers looking for the one gem, familiar or curious. Take 'em home and swoon or if a dud it was a lesson. Those were the days we can talk about.

Meetup is a social organization, not an event calendar. The host is an unpaid volunteer. Attendees and guests are responsible for their own safety. In general, our members are avid jazz fans, middle age and up, enjoy socializing with food and drink, and we show-up on time. Please have good intentions when you rsvp; 'No-Shows' are no good.
