Edgardo & Candela: Salsa Orchestra: a free outdoor show!

Yes, it's another FREE outdoor show, this one featuring a 90-minute set from an excellent group known to Meetup regulars: percussionist Edgardo Cambon and his band.

This performance is part of Walnut Creek's popular annual Art & Wine Festival. This year, the festival moves from Heather Farms to a new location, Civic Park, in Walnut Creek's attractive downtown area.

WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Aim to arrive at Civic Park by 12:30 p.m. so you can locate the EAST stage where this band will be playing, and get a chance to mingle with your fellow Meetup members before the music starts. (The band will play from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, 5 feet tall, with glasses, and short salt-&-pepper hair. I'll send my mobile number to RSVPers prior to the event, and will post a Comment on the Meetup Event Page when I get situated near the stage.

TRANSIT/PARKING: If driving, note that parts of the Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill BART stations have free parking for the festival. If taking mass transit, you have the option of walking 3/4 mile from Walnut Creek BART **or** taking one of the FREE festival shuttles that will be going from both the Walnut Creek BART station AND the Pleasant Hill BART station. FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS are available for purchase at the Festival. NOTE that the Festival website says "Absolutely, NO Outside Food, Drink, or Coolers will be allowed." (However, I am told that attendees ARE allowed to bring in water.)

IMPORTANT: Bring a low-backed chair or beach towel to sit on, unless you plan to stand (or dance) throughout the 90-minute concert.
