Feeling adventurous? Come check out a FREE performance by students from the California Jazz Conservatory's adult music program. Meetup members have been impressed by past performances by CJC students, so I'm ready for more!
For this event, I'm posting the last 2 segments of the evening, featuring students from the conservatory's contemporary jazz ensemble class (performing from 8:10 p.m. to 8:40 p.m.) and the students from their funk ensemble class (performing from 8:50 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
TICKETS: None required for these concerts. Seating is general admission, first-come, first-served.
WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Unless joining me for dinner beforehand, meet inside the performance space at the jazz conservatory's Hardymon Hall by 8:00 p.m. so we can get seats together for the 8:10 p.m. performance.
**NOTE: This event will take place at the jazz conservatory's original DOWNSTAIRS space at 2087 Addison.**
HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, 5 feet tall, with short salt-and-pepper hair and glasses. (See my photo with my Meetup profile.) I'll send my cellphone number to RSVPers prior to the event, and I'll post an Event Page Comment saying where I'm seated.
TRANSPORTATION/PARKING: The venue is less than a half-block from the downtown Berkeley BART station, as well as numerous AC Transit bus lines on Shattuck and University. There's a paid garage in the same block as the jazz school, or you can typically find free street parking as you get away from Shattuck or go north of University.
OPTIONAL PRE-SHOW DINNER at 7:00 p.m. at Tender Greens restaurant, a good fast-casual restaurant on University near Shattuck.
