Latin jazz from the Cabanijazz Project - FREE show

Lesher Center's annual Fiesta Cultural event culminates this year in an hourlong set by local band Cabanijazz Project. Meetup regulars have seen this band in action at various venues over the years and always enjoyed their high-energy mix of sounds!

I will be coming to the Cabanijazz Project performance from the Meetup event I posted a while back, consisting of a hula performance in downtown San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens. Anyone else up for fitting in both events in the same day? :)

WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Meet by 5:50 p.m. at the Locust Street stage, where Cabanijazz Project will be performing from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. That stage (one of two stages for the Fiesta Cultural) is located between Civic and Cypress, near downtown Walnut Creek's Lesher Center. Immediately preceding the band will be a half-hour event (starting at 5:30 p.m.) consisting of a "Carnaval Pop-Up Party," which organizers describe as a dance party that will move around the festival, guided by Carnaval dancers. The high temperature for Walnut Creek that day is predicted to a very pleasant 78 degrees.

LOCATION: Note that I'm using Lesher Center's address as the location for this event, since it's the nearest, best-known landmark, and they're the sponsoring organization. The outdoor stage where the band will be is actually on Locust Street, which runs alongside Lesher Center.

NOTE that the Cabanijazz Project performance is only one hour long. However, Meetup members who are not attending the hula performance in San Francisco have the option of attending earlier segments of the Fiesta Cultural in Walnut Creek, prior to the Cabaniazz Project show.

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, 5 feet tall, with short, salt-and-pepper hair and glasses. I'll be wearing black pants, a black short-sleeved, v-neck top, and probably a small, floppy white hat. PLEASE TEXT ME IF YOU DON'T SPOT ME.

TRANSIT/PARKING: Short walk from Walnut Creek BART station, or take the free shuttle from that BART station's bus bay (to the side/rear of the station) to Lesher Center.
