Juke Joint and the end of Riggers Loft!

Details
It was inevitable, Riggers Loft is closing at the end of the month. The City of Richmond would not give them a break regarding the back rent accumulated during the Covid years. I got the sad news from the co-owner Barbara B. who with her husband lost a legal battle with the City and no other option remains. There have been several suitors for the place by none involve live music. Well, all good things must come to an end ;-(
Still, we won't let them fade away. We can celebrate the past 6 years by feasting and dancing away the twilight with Juke Joint! How apt is that, all the good and familiar tunes by the musicians in the photo, playing with gusto. I hope to see them again. There were other fine bands but we've seen Juke Joint the most.

Tickets: When word gets around that this their last event it'll sellout fast. I'll get an early reservation for 8 on one table by pre-paying the $8 x 8 = $64 cover charge. This ensures us a table in the event of a sellout. Please reimburse me thru Venmo or PayPal when you rsvp. If we have more than 10, I will try for a second table if available.
Meetup is a social organization not an event calendar. If you tend to not join the social part, you will be dropped from the group. In general, our members are avid jazz fans, middle age and up, enjoy socializing with food and drink, and we show-up on time. Please have good intentions when you rsvp; 'No-Shows' are no good. If your plans have changed please select Edit RSVP at bottom of page to take yourself off the Attendee List.
Riggers Loft has a fine wine selection and limited menu. As a warehouse it is not entirely handicap accessible. It is pet friendly. This is an outdoor venue but if it rains/windy/cold they'll move us indoors. Please bring cash to tip the musicians.
