Key Elements: A Latin Jazz ensemble

Key Elements is an all-female Latin jazz band consisting of five musicians on piano, sax, percussion, bass, flute, and drums, performing a lively mix of original compositions and classic pieces that draw on mambo, cha-cha, bolero, bossa nova, samba, calypso, and more. Meetup members have enjoyed seeing this high-energy band at this same venue a couple times over the years. It feels like time for yet another taste! :)

EVENT COST: Tickets are about $28 in advance online or $25 at the door (cash or Venmo only at the door). I also welcome $1.00 donations to defray the hefty fee that Meetup charges me as lead organizer of the Live Jazz (& Blues) Group.

SEATING: General admission, mainly on couches, in a casual, pleasantly funky, coffeehouse-type setting

WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Meet out front of the Back Room by 2:30 p.m., so we can get seats together. (The show starts at 3:00 p.m.) If we miss each other there, look for each other in the seating area.

OPTIONAL POST-SHOW DINNER: Location still TBD. I'll probably opt for a casual, walk-in place within easy walking distance from the concert venue and BART. Folks can let me know either before or after the show if they have an interest in a group dinner.

LOCATION: The Back Room is located just off University, about a block from MLK (and Trader Joe's), on AC Transit bus routes, and less than a half-mile from the downtown Berkeley BART station.
