Critically acclaimed 17-piece jazz band the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra -- widely recognized for the quality of members' compositions, arrangements, and playing -- is joined for this program by the award-winning Edward Simon, an SF Jazz Collective pivotal member who has been praised by DownBeat as “one of the strongest pianists of his generation."

COST: About $21 for the concert ticket - plus a $1.00 donation to the Meetup organizer, if you haven't contributed recently to offsetting the hefty fees that Meetup charges me.

TICKETS: Buy your own tickets. Seating is general admission, first-come, first-served. I think this show will sell out!

WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Meet inside the performance area of the jazz conservatory's DOWNSTAIRS location at 2087 Addison by 5:00 p.m.. so we can aim to get decent seats together. (The concert starts at 5:30 p.m. and will last to 7:00 p.m., likely consisting of one 90-minute set.)

NOTE THAT THIS IS AN EARLY SHOW.

OPTIONAL DINNER AFTER THE SHOW: In downtown Berkeley, possibly at the Berkeley Social Club (Korean fusion) or other options within easy walking distance. Please indicate in your Meetup concert RSVP whether you're interested in the dinner, as space allows. To facilitate logistics, I limit dinner headcounts to six Meetup members in good standing. However, I happily accommodate additional RSVPers for the concert by itself. :)

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, with short salt-and-pepper hair and with glasses. (See my photo with my Meetup profile.) I'll send my cellphone number to RSVPers prior to the event.

TRANSPORTATION/PARKING: The venue is less than a half-block from the downtown Berkeley BART station, as well as numerous AC Transit bus lines on Shattuck and University. There's a paid garage in the same block as the jazz school, or you can typically find free street parking as you get away from Shattuck or go north of University.
