Bassist Heshima Mark Williams will head up a quartet in this FREE outdoor show, part of Jazz in the Neighborhood's JazzMobile series. Meetup members have caught prior JazzMobile performances at this location, and they have never steered us wrong. (Ha! Couldn't resist that one.) Filling out the band are: Lincoln Adler on tenor sax, Ben Stolorow on keyboards, and Alexey Berlin on drums.

EVENT COST: $1.00 donation (payable in cash or via PayPal) to help defray the $180/year that Meetup charges me as head organizer. Otherwise, the show itself is FREE.

WHEN TO MEET: Meet outside the library by 1:40 p.m. so we can get seats together and so Meetup members have a chance to get acquainted before the quartet begins its two-hour set at 2:00 p.m. (They will be preceded by a student band, who start playing at noon.)

WHERE TO MEET: Jazz Mobile performances are held in the driveway type space leading to the tool library on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, near Russell Street.

SEATING is on folding chairs that the library provides. (For added insurance, attendees might want to bring their own lightweight camp chairs, but they probably won't be necessary. The library chairs have been more than adequate at prior Jazz Mobile shows.)

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, about 5 feet tall, with glasses and short salt & pepper hair. I'll send my mobile number to RSVPers prior to the event. PLEASE TEXT ME IF YOU DON'T SPOT ME.

WHAT TO CONSIDER BRINGING: Sun protection, water, and snacks of your choice. (There is a convenience store located across from the BART station, or if you have extra time, the famed Berkeley Bowl is within walking distance.)

TRANSIT and PARKING: The library is less than a half-mile from the Ashby BART station in South Berkeley. If you're walking from BART, the fastest route is to cut diagonally across the BART parking lot to Martin Luther King Jr. Way (across from Shotgun Players theater). NOTE: the library does not have a parking lot. Unmetered parking is on the street.
