Spaghetti: An Eclectic Quartet
Details
SPAGHETTI is an instrumental quartet of Bay Area musicians with a background in jazz, folk, blues, rock, and more, featuring guitarist Jim Campilongo, accordionist/pianist Sam Reider, drummer Scott Amendola, and bassist Mat Muntz. Original compositions by Campilongo and Reider collide with pieces by such greats as Duke Ellington, Astor Piazzolla, and Hank Williams. A January show by this band at the same venue -- before a capacity crowd -- was described by a leading Bay Area music journalist as "both entirely satisfying and often wonderfully weird." I have seen three of the four musicians in various bands over the years myself and can attest to the quality of their compositions and playing!

EVENT COST: Tickets are about $28 per person online via Humanitix -- or $25 at the door, with either cash or Venmo. Also, I welcome donations from Meetup members who have not donated recently to offset the $180.00 per year that Meetup charges me as lead organizer.
Buy your own tickets. See additional info about the band members and the ticket link here:

SEATING: General admission, on couches and chairs, in a casual, pleasantly funky, coffeehouse-type setting
WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Meet me out front of the Back Room by 6:30 p.m. when the doors are scheduled to open, so we can get seats together. If we miss each other outside, look for each other in the seating area. (The show is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will likely consist of two sets, ending at about 9:00 p.m.)
NOTE that this is an early-ish Sunday evening show, on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.
HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, about 5 feet tall, with short, salt-and-pepper hair, and glasses. (See my photo with my Meetup profile.) I'll send my cellphone number and more info to RSVPers prior to the event. If I get seated before other Meetup RSVPers, I'll post a Comment on the Meetup Event Page saying where I'm located. PLEASE TEXT ME IF YOU DON'T SPOT ME.
(NOTE: NO food or drink is sold at the Back Room, but you are free to bring your own snacks or BYOB.)

PARKING: There is a paid parking lot directly across the street from The Back Room. Folks also typically find free parking on side streets or main streets. (Note: It's easier to find parking as you get away from Shattuck OR as you go north of University.) There's also a fee-based parking garage down the street from The Freight, about 3 blocks away.
Regarding the parking lot across the street from The Back Room -->> **Please note that you must park in the street level lot (the gate for that lot never closes), and NOT in the underground lot (which locks up at 10pm).**

TRANSIT/LOCATION: The Back Room is located just off University, about a block from MLK (and Trader Joe's), on AC Transit bus routes, and less than a half-mile from the downtown Berkeley BART station.
