Get here early for this one as the show starts off with Ottawa's own "The Heavy Medicine Band".

The Heavy Medicine Band is a dreamy, psychedelic, electric-rock band, from Ottawa Ontario, Canada. Lead by dark yet benevolent vocals, through ephemera of weaving acid-wash guitars and sympathetic drones of pounding drums and bass.

The Heavy Medicine Band is wet music that transcends any sort of restrictive labels, like "psychedelic", though it is an appropriate starting point.

Some may know Keturah Johnson as she is lead vocalist and a guitarist in this band.

Expanda Fuzz is a duo from Ottawa, "conceived while attempting to rip apart a Pink Floyd song with a distorted bass and a fuzz-driven guitar through a ripped speaker cabinet...while playing to a Roland 404 sampler".

The result of that experiment can be heard on the duo’s first record ‘Bleuets’, where they showcase their brand of catchy, drone-y, post-punk songs that hook heavily into a psych-garage sound.

Think Kim Deal fronting the Velvet Underground, or Mary Timony jamming with Suicide.

The band was formed in 2016, and during last year, they performed notable festivals like Ottawa Explosion and Edmonton's Up + Downtown Festival.

FOAM is a trio from London (Ontario). They are describes as euphoric noisy punk rock band tying the acid rock of 80s and 90s Manchester with the psychedelic stylings of bands like The Brian Jones Town Massacre and The Butthole surfers.

Fruit and Flower's calls New York City home. They are deemed one of “NYC’s Hardest Working Bands” by Oh My Rockness. Fruit & Flowers spent most of 2017 on the road in support of their debut EP Drug Tax, which the band premiered exclusively on TIDAL. Ana Becker’s angular, expressive guitar style and Lyzi Wakefield’s gritty rhythmic backbone merge a post-punk heaviness with psychedelic warmth. Committed and charismatic front woman Caroline Yoder summons a fervent energy, surrounded by distinct, warm and refreshing three part harmonies, the bedrock of Fruit and Flowers’ sound.

Ottawa explosion is on all weekend (June 13-17). For more information check out http://ottawaexplosion.com
