What we’re about

Welcome to our safe space, where we gather to voice our experiences of discrimination and marginalisation. This is a platform for individuals who have been affected by the unwelcoming environments that devalue our identities, cultures, and values. Here, we stand together as a community - Black individuals, Queer people, Women, Travellers, Workers, and anyone who has felt the sting of being minoritised or dehumanised.

This group is more than just a discussion forum; it's a community of resilience, empowerment, and solidarity. By coming together, we make a stand against the forces that seek to marginalise us, while also building a foundation for a healthier, more welcoming environment for all. Let's share, learn, and grow together, using our voices and actions to make a difference.

Our Mission:
Our shared goal is not only to share and validate each other's experiences but also to foster healing and develop strategies for surviving more healthily in a world that often seems against us. We understand the importance of being surrounded by people who do not question our realities but instead offer validation and support.

Discussion Topics:

  • Voicing Experiences: Sharing personal stories of discrimination and marginalisation, focusing on the impact of invisible stereotyping and microaggressions.
  • Practicing Psychological Self-Defence: Techniques to make the invisible visible, how to interrupt verbal and non-verbal attacks, and ways to educate offenders.
  • Community Alertness: Strategies for alerting the community about instances of discrimination and how we can collectively support one another.
  • Self-Defence Techniques: Sharing and practicing self-defence methods that empower us to stand up against physical and psychological threats.
  • Healing and Support: Creating a network of support that contributes to our healing process, offering resources, and fostering an environment where we can thrive despite adversity.

Our Approach:
We believe in the power of storytelling and shared experiences as a form of resistance against the forces that seek to marginalise us. Through our discussions, we aim to shed light on the systemic issues that disrupt our lives, while also equipping each other with the tools needed to navigate these challenges.
