What we’re about

Welcome to the Liverpool Horror & Geek Club!

This group is for anyone who loves horror, geek culture, and making new mates in a chill, judgment-free space. Whether you're into slasher films, superheroes, true crime, retro games, or cult classics — you’ll fit right in.

I started this group because I wanted a local safe haven for people like me: horror fans, comic nerds, movie geeks, and pop culture enthusiasts who just want to enjoy what they love without having to travel far or feel out of place. From movie nights and social meets to cosplay events and “who’s your favourite villain?” debates — this is your space.

To keep this space safe, friendly, and fun for everyone, please follow these guidelines:-

1. Respect Everyone

  • Be kind and welcoming to all members.
  • No hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or harassment — zero tolerance.
  • Respect different tastes in horror, geek culture, and opinions.
  • It's of course cool to have differing views, banter and debates are welcome but keep it friendly.
  • Don’t gatekeep — whether someone’s a lifelong horror buff or just getting into Marvel, everyone belongs here.

2. Safe Space Policy

  • This is a judgment-free community. Come as you are.
  • No shaming based on looks, lifestyle, or fandom preferences.
  • If you ever feel unsafe, please message one of the admins

3. Events & meetups

  • Be respectful at meetups — treat venues, organisers, and other attendees with care.
  • RSVP honestly — if you can’t make it, update your status so others can join.
  • Consent is key: ask before taking photos of people, and no unwanted touching (cosplay isn’t consent).
  • Keep posts relevant to horror, geek culture, and group activities.
  • No spam, self-promotion, or selling without permission.
  • Trigger warnings are encouraged for graphic/gory content.
  • No piracy links, illegal activity, or anything that could get the group in trouble.

4. Not a Dating Zone

  • This group is about friendship, community, and shared passions — not a dating site.
  • Don’t join just to “get girls/guys” or treat members like you’re on Tinder. Creepy behaviour, pestering, or making people uncomfortable will not be tolerated.
  • No unsolicited private messages or DMs. If you want to message someone directly, ask first or keep it in the group chat. Respect people’s privacy.
  • If two adults genuinely click and something develops naturally, that’s fine — but it should never be the main reason for joining.

5. Have fun & Get involved

  • Suggest films, games, or meetups! This is your community too.
  • Share your passions, ask questions, and make mates.

Just as a closing note, this group is here for people who love horror and geek culture to connect, hang out, and enjoy themselves. Treat everyone with respect, join in where you can, and help make this a space where people feel comfortable and welcome.

Yours,

Ikram
