Details
Created this Meetup on Andrews request, to allow those that haven’t yet experienced the wonder of Bala lake to come along, aswell as those that have...
So we will this time meet at 10:30 at the Bala lake car park, at the picnic bench under a tree near the stone stairs....
Lake Bala/Llyn Tegid is the largest natural body of water in Wales, is easily accessible and is around an hour and a half’s drive from Liverpool. It is a beautiful, scenic location, which is safe and extremely pleasant to swim in.
Once we’ve had a quick introduction, we can change and enter the water for a refreshing swim. I would advise some sort of footwear for those with sensitive feet as the stones on the lake bed can be challenging 😀. It is worth noting that, although the water feels initially cold, once you slowly walk further and immerse your body more, the feeling of cold quickly passes. We can then take a short drive to nearby Brithdir for an invigorating walk along a beautiful forest path. We will experience nature at its finest and also the possibility of a dip in the fresh flowing river. There is a nice spot to enjoy a picnic and relax near the end of our walk so please bring some food and drink.
Please bring a couple of towels, a change of clothes and suitable clothing for swimming and walking.
If you are driving and have space in your car please let the group know in the comments. I have space for 3 passengers and am happy to have the company for the drive......
