“Sidecar” for Umbraco 8 with Callum Whyte

Details
We're super excited to have Callum come to Liverpool and talk about his new project “Sidecar” for Umbraco 8.
At some point everyone will have a requirement to perform a batch task, or run something at regular intervals.
Historically solutions have been using Umbraco's scheduler (since removed in V8), creating a clunky console app by cloning Morten's example from Github, exposing a dodgy custom API endpoint, or wiring up a 3rd party tool like Hangfire. This is all far more painful than it really deserves to be.
Callum's new project makes running "Sidecar" apps alongside your Umbraco website a doddle. Callum will show how Sidecar can give you full access to the Umbraco APIs while running as a console app, in an Azure Function, and even as an event / timer triggered task with minimal code and configuration.
