About us
Everyone is welcome in this group, it is a safe space for vegans to socialise with other vegans. For us veganism is more than just a diet, it’s a way of life. If you are not vegan and come along to an event, you may be asked some uncomfortable questions.
Almost every day we are asked ‘why don’t you eat meat’. So in our space we will ask ‘why do you still eat meat’ and we will explain why animal agriculture is cruel and bad for the planet.
We also have a Whatsapp group. Everyone is welcome to join but you must attend a few events first to get to know everyone. Ask an organiser when attending an event.

Willow Fields Sanctuary Volunteer Weekend
Willow Fields Sanctuary and Rescue uni, New Hall Ln, Hoylake, Wirral CH47 4BP, Wirral, GBFYI, Caroline (the co-host) will be attending this event, Tim won't be. This event has already been duplicated across the Meetup platform. no need to rsvp twice. 😊
Willowfields Sanctuary Volunteer Weekend will take place on the 12th & 13th September 2026 at Willowfields Sanctuary & Rescue in Hoylake, Wirral.
The aim of the weekend is to bring as many people together as possible to help support the sanctuary through repairs, maintenance, fencing, drainage, aviaries, landscaping, animal care, outreach, fundraising, and many other important projects that directly benefit the animals and the future of the sanctuary.
We are looking for people of all abilities and experience levels. Whether you can help with practical work, animal care, fundraising, outreach, transport, catering, equipment, materials, or simply helping to spread awareness, every bit of support matters and is hugely appreciated.
Camping will be available on-site for those staying across the weekend, but if you can only attend for one day, that is absolutely fine too. Any help we can get will make a difference.
Over £1,700 has already been raised already, which is an amazing start, but there is still a huge amount of work to do and a lot of materials and projects that need funding. We really want to make this the biggest success possible for the animals and for the sanctuary.
Please help us spread the word as much as possible over the coming months. Share the GoFundMe page, invite people to the group, reshare social media posts, talk to friends and family, and help us reach as many people as we can. The more awareness we create, the more support we can generate, and the bigger impact we can make together.
