Liverpool Writers Exchange — In Deep Critique

Free Writing Critique Group - 12pm - 2pm Alternate Saturdays at The Pen Factory, Hope St.

This group takes a deep dive into the craft of writing. We will dissect submissions to better understand how they can be improved. Grammar, voice, POV, punctuation, flow, and rhythm are all interlinked and the aim of this group is to help each other understand the technical and stylistic skills of writing, learn, and become better writers. Join us for some close up scrutiny of each others work and examination of texts that have been published with holes.

Found a great book, article, or Substack that helped you understand an aspect of your writing? Bring it along! Exchanging useful resources is definitely encouraged.

Sessions: limited to 8 people to ensure feedback can be explored in the time allowed.

Submit up to 1000 words. We use Google Docs. Please use this email to share at least 3 days before each meetup: liverpoolwriterscritique@gmail.com and I will post links to everyone's work on the group chat.

This is a critique group, so we will be respectfully pointing out errors and problems, be prepared for that. You don't have to submit to join us, but you must have actionable feedback to share.

Everyone is welcome regardless of ability, publishing status, or mother tongue.
