Living History

Fifty-one years ago tonight, the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald sank on North America's Lake Superior. All 29 men on board were lost, and no distress call was ever received. Within a year Gordon Lightfoot had recorded the song, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, a main reason the ship is remembered more than the countless others that sank in the Great Lakes' notorious storms.

Join us at on Tuesday 10 November at 19:00 at Café Dyrehaven (Sønder Boulevard 72, Vesterbro) to talk about the sinking, Great Lakes shipping and how a ship can become a legend, over drinks on a dark November evening.
