About us
blue crew social, CO
Formerly known as Living Liberally, Douglas County, CO, blue crew social spans the county with groups gathering regularly in Castle Rock, Parker, and Sterling Ranch/Roxborough.
WHEN WE MEET
In 2026, we gather on this rhythm:
• The blue crew social in Castle Rock gathers on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays from 5-7 PM @ Fuzzy's Tacos.
• The blue crew social in Parker gathers on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays from 5-7 PM @ Takoda Tavern.
• The blue crew social in Sterling Ranch gathers on the 2nd Thursday from 5-7 PM @ Takoda Tavern.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Events run 5-7 PM on Thursdays, but people often linger later. Feel free to come or go as needed.
We aim to meet in private areas of a restaurant that also has a bar, if possible. Some people just treat it like a happy hour, others eat whatever works for you! It's not a hard-drinking crowd, so you'll absolutely fit in if you're not interested in alcohol.
Depending on the event location and week, we typically have 25 to 45 people participating. Up to a quarter of the people attending are there for the first time-guests are VERY MUCH encouraged!
About 45 minutes in, we do a welcome, provide some info about the group, point to some activism opportunities or groups to get involved with, and offer a toast based on recent news. Sometimes when we have candidates come, the time is extended to allow them to speak to the whole group.
HOW TO CONNECT
You can find our page on Facebook, but Meetup will remain our primary hub for scheduling socials and RSVPs to them.

OUR FUTURE PLANS
We're actively working on finding the right leaders and expanding to the two remaining sizable towns in the county: Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree.
Come find and enjoy your tribe! As we like to say, "We fight better when we're friends!"

blue crew social in Parker
Takoda Tavern, 12311 Pine Bluffs Way, Parker, CO, USLiving Liberally is now "blue crew social!"
But, the important stuff hasn't changed.Yes, we've rebranded! For a variety of reasons related to more freedom to expand our reach and allow the groups to function in a way that makes sense to the hosts, we've gone independent. We are, however, still dedicated to being THE onramp to progressive community and activism! Stop by, hang out with some people who share your values, chat about the news of the day and issues of our times, and learn about ways to participate in activism and resistance! We continue to operate in this unique niche to benefit all the great activism groups in our area doing the important work!
Yes, there is a new blue crew social group in Sterling Ranch/ Roxborough! Led by local hosts Rachel Lesser and Kerri Buted in the Living The Dream Taproom at Sterling Ranch this one got off to a fabulous start at its first gathering in the beginning of January with nearly 30 people! If you live in the area or know someone who does, we’d love to have you come by and spread the word! For now, this group will be gathering once per month on the second week.
Yes, there is now a sponsor! Part of our rebrand involves becoming an independent organization. Taking on a sponsor allows us to defray the costs of running the group. Not a big change here, since it's the same sponsor that supported our costs over the first year! It's clear our community is his passion where he cosplays Progressive Superman, but if he can help you in his button-down Clark Kent professional capacity--he'd love to as it's about the same mission. As he puts it: "Every time I help someone buy or sell a house, the stats say I'm making Douglas County more purple!" Note: He'll probably try to convince you to stay.A hard year has passed. A new year that may be even harder has dawned. Will it be better or worse? Who knows.
