More of a poetry in the round, we share our work in a non amplified setting. While we encourage original material we don’t discourage sharing with us your favorite authors. Are you just a fan of poetry and spoken word? You are welcome to come and just listen.
The number of poems each participant will read will be determined by the size of the group. Please be prepared to read 1 to 3 poems, or 5 minutes of prose.
Afternoon of Open Mic Poetry aims to be an intra-generational gathering of creatives working in a safe and mentoring environment. The monthly event is open to everyone, regardless of age.
This is a free event sponsored through Raleigh Rec. Registration is advised online at RecLink, https://reclink.raleighnc.gov/ or in person at any Raleigh Community Center to assure your place, but walk-ins are welcome. When you arrive be sure to let them know at reception that you are here to attended Freshly Brewedd Poems.
