Flyleaf Second Sunday Poetry

Details
Please join us on Sunday July 13 at 2:30 pm, as we host poets Georgann Eubanks and Ruth Bardon. Each poet will read for about 20 minutes, followed by a short break to sign books, and then the Open Mic. (Please limit your reading to one poem, one page.)
Georgann Eubanks is well-known for her guidebooks that invite readers to explore the literary, cultural, culinary, and ecological heritage of the South. Rural Astronomy, new this month from Eastover Press, is her first collection of poetry. She has published widely--short stories, poems, reviews, and profiles in many magazines and journals, and is the recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Literary Fellowship. She is co-principal with Donna Campbell in Minnow Media, LLC, an Emmy-winning multimedia production company that creates independent documentaries for public television and is also one of the founders of the North Carolina Writers Network.
Ruth Bardon’s latest poetry collection Witness (Meadowlark Press) was a finalist for the 2024 Birdy Poetry Prize. Ruth grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey, and lived in a number of midwestern cities before firmly settling in Durham. She received an MFA degree from the Iowa Writers Workshop in 1982 and a PhD in English from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1995. Her poems have appeared in Boulevard, The Cincinnati Review, New Ohio Review, and elsewhere. She is also the author of What You Wish For (Finishing Line Press, 2023) the chapbook Demon Barber (Main Street Rag, 2020), and Selected Short Stories of William Dean Howells (Ohio University Press, 1997).
Come early to socialize and sign up for the Open Mic. Hope to see you there!
