Please join us Wednesday, August 20th at Eno House in Hillsborough, NC for “Weave & Spin,” a performance and open mic series curated and hosted by poet Morrow Dowdle, focused on voices that have waited too long to be heard. Performance begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by an open mic. Free admission. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for open mic sign-up. Must be 18 and older to enter and perform.

Gabriel Fried is the author of three books of poetry: No Small Thing (Four Way Books, 2025), The Children Are Reading (Four Way Books, 2017), and Making the New Lamb Take (Sarabande Books, 2007). He is also the editor of an anthology, Heart of the Order: Baseball Poems. His poems have appeared in many journals and magazines, including the American Poetry Review, American Literary Review, American Scholar, Bennington Review, Gettysburg Review, Kenyon Review, Paris Review, Tin House, and Yale Review. He is the longtime poetry editor for Persea Books, and is Associate Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at the University of Missouri.
When Kashiana is not writing, she lives to embody her TEDx talk theme of Work as Worship into her everyday. She currently serves as Managing Editor for Poets Reading the News. Her chapbook Crushed Anthills by Yavanika Press is a journey through 10 cities. Woman by the Door, was released in 2022 with Apprentice House Press. Her latest collection is Witching Hour was released in Dec 2024 by Glass Lyre Press. She is waiting to see her newest collection Dualities of Albireo drop in June 2025 with Poetry Box.
